The Seamless Surface Academy was founded with one goal in mind. To provide the most hands on, seamless surface training in the UK.
As the sister company of one of the UK's leading microcement install companies (www.fortiscoatings.co.uk) and premium material supply company (www.forcrete.co.uk), its safe to say we know a thing or two about real world microcement and seamless coating application.
Throughout all of our courses we share vital information which many trainers simply do not touch upon. How to quote and win work, managing expectations, running a successful microcement business, common issues on site and much more.
If you want to grow and progress you need to invest in yourself. The SSA gives all trainees the necessary skills, techniques and knowledge to thrive in the world of seamless surfaces.
Meet The Team
George Hunt - Director / Trainer
Years experience - 10+
M2 of Microcement installed - 15,000 m2 +
George began his seamless surface career at the age of 16 in the industrial resin flooring industry. Learning a wealth of experience in all aspects of concrete preparation / grinding and epoxy resin application.
In 2016 George founded www.fortiscoatings.co.uk, a specialist seamless surface installation company working mostly in high end residential homes. Installing a huge range of resin and concrete based systems such as metallic epoxy, polished concrete, epoxy flakes, microcement, polished toppings and many more. Throughout 2016 - 2020 George was predominantly based on the tools, installing thousands of meters worth of seamless surfaces per year, learning which systems make money and which end up in headaches and call backs.
In 2019 www.forcrete.co.uk was founded, supplying premium, 100% waterproof before sealers microcement to skilled installers around the UK. In 2021 Forcrete has cemented its name within the microcement industry, with installers in the UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Norway and New Zealand.
As a trained ICORR level 2 coatings inspector, George is passionate about doing things correctly and passes this mantra onto all trainees.
Matt Newby - Director / Trainer
Years experience - 5+
M2 of Microcement installed - 10,000 m2 +
Matt comes from a multi skilled background, specialising in building, tiling and plastering before focusing solely on microcement application.
In 2019 Matt made the decision to stop installing other brands of microcement, and only offer Forcrete Microcement to his customers. This was the beginning of a close relationship with Fortis, often lending a hand on large, prestigious installs.
It was a no brainer for Matt and Forcrete to join forces, further sharing and expanding our knowledge of real world microcement installations and trying to create the ultimate one stop shop for installers around the globe.
Matt is a hands on teacher who is most at home with a trowel in his hand, leading by example.
